Hearts have not made additional signings ahead of the Europa League deadline. The Tynecastle outfit, who have been linked with a host of players in a bid to strengthen the squad as they prepare to face Croatian champions Dynamo Zagreb, failed to snap anyone up before last nights cut off point.

This is a worry for Jambo's. We struggled in pre season and the new arrivals that Csaba Laszlo has acquired have shown flashes of what they can do but obviously need time to settle and gel. Throw in injuries to key players such as Elliott, Driver and Kingston, and we could be looking at an early and embarrassing European exit, a trend for Scottish tams on recent years.

Then again, it may turn out okay. Many people have written off the Jam Tarts before, and many have had to wipe egg of their faces. So while we didn't get to add to the side in time for our exploits on the continent, we must not give up.
